PersistedConcurrentSortedList

PersistedConcurrentSortedList is an F# library for ordered key/value storage with on-disk persistence.

It is designed for workloads where:

• the dataset is loaded once or rebuilt at startup,
• reads dominate after initialization,
• only occasional small updates are expected,
• ordered queries such as FirstLastN* still matter.

The library currently supports:

The protobuf path includes the compatibility handling required by the current fCell2<'T> model used in this repository.

Native queue regression

Explicit IgnoreQ now propagates through persistence status, buffer removal and RemoveAsync. Default overloads keep queued completion. See verification and Host change. Run misc/verify.nativeQueue.ps1 with no arguments for PLAN, or with -Execute for synthetic native filesystem tests. This source milestone has not replaced the public 10.1.400 package.

Native bounded value storage

Development identity: 10.1.402-dev.chunk25.1, not published. Both PCSL and PCSL2 automatically stream new values into immutable parts of at most 25,000,000 bytes, with a bounded PCSLCH01 manifest at the original hash.val path. Public logical value APIs and key index serialization remain unchanged. Reads verify the full payload before decoding; legacy single-file values remain readable without rewriting and migrate on the next successful write.

Default persistence keeps the existing serializer and Deflate bytes. Custom Write2File/ReadFromFile callbacks run once on a complete staging spool; callers must not depend on its physical name. Use the store's ReadFromFile getter for transparent direct reads, ChunkedValue.inspectCommitted for physical lengths/integrity, and logical Remove for complete cleanup. A top-level manifest's small size does not measure the logical payload. Directly deleting or decoding hash.val is incompatible with the new layout.

New keys publish the index last; updates atomically replace the anchor. Reads hold per-key protection through buffer publication. Deletion unpublishes the index before cleanup and retains a tombstone on failure; reopen resumes owned cleanup. Keep the index, anchor and referenced generation together for checkpoints. Cross-process writers and power-loss durability are outside this native validation. Upgrade readers before switching a writer; old packages cannot read the new layout. Contract and gates.
