Orleans.Database.Adapter

Orleans.Database.Adapter owns the SQL/SqlSugar adapter contract, bounded database operation admission, and the Orleans grain-storage bridge for a named provider.

Application modules must register database adapters through the hosting surface in this assembly:

silo.AddDatabaseAdapter<MyDatabaseClient>("documents");

The registration API is intentionally kept next to the adapter implementation. iTool.ShareLibrary.Framework only composes shared development infrastructure and does not define a second database registration owner.

The adapter does not own product entities or search policy. Product modules provide their own AbstractDatabaseClient<T> implementation and may pass a factory when the client needs module-specific configuration.

Optional admission diagnostics

Subscribe to the iTool.Database.Adapter ActivitySource to distinguish database.admission (logical pool, endpoint governor and SQLite access waits) from database.execution (the admitted ExecuteAsync delegate). These are elapsed times; execution is not a database-server SQL duration and can contain nested work. Direct EnterAsync callers emit only admission. Same-endpoint nested ExecuteAsync calls reuse the original permit and do not emit another pair.

The two tags are database.workload.kind and database.workload.profile. The profile is the governor's existing uppercase SHA-256 of the trimmed workload key (or kind when the key is blank). No connection strings, original keys, SQL, payloads or exception text are exported. Failures and canceled admission have Error status without a description. With no listener no Activity is created; these diagnostics do not change limits, retries, transaction or cancellation rules.
